Foster children are children who have been removed from their home because of sexual abuse, neglect or abandonment. Foster children are normal children, much like your own children, nieces and nephews, only with different experiences. These children are frequently filled with anger, confusion, fear and a sense of powerlessness because they have been removed from the only home they have known.

County Child Protective Services or the Probation Department removes children from their biological parents/ homes as a result of neglect, abuse or delinquency. Severely disturbed or delinquent children are sent to institutional care facilities or group homes. Some infants and toddlers may go to adoptive homes or are placed with the remaining, larger group in foster homes.

Children thrive in the right foster or adoptive family, but finding that family can be difficult. The challenges multiply if the child has a disability or special health care needs, is emotionally disturbed, a teen parent or has several siblings who also need foster care.
That's where we can help. Maintaining a statewide network of hundreds of highly skilled and caring foster and adoptive parents of many races and ethnic backgrounds allows us to find the right match for just about any child
